The Eastern Health, Mental Health Program is a publicly funded mental health service operating within the Eastern Region of Melbourne providing mental health assessment and interventions for people experiencing severe mental illness. Working from a recovery oriented model, clinicians provide an array of hospital-based, community and specialist services for children, youth, adults and aged people across the Eastern Region.

Location: Inner East

St Vincent’s Mental Health (or Inner East Mental Health Service) provides:

  • a range of psychiatric services to people who are aged between 16 and 65 and living in the cities of Yarra and Boroondara.
  • St Vincent’s Aged Mental Health Service (based at St George’s campus in Kew) provides inpatient, residential and community services including specialist clinics for residents aged 65 and older in the cities of Boroondara, Yarra and Darebin (Northcote to Thornbury).
  • Child and adolescent services are for young people up to the age of 18 years and a variety of specialist outreach, case management and inpatient services are available.
