Safe & Secure training is for professionals in the eastern metropolitan region who work with children, young people and families who have experienced family violence. It enables workers to:
– Explore a framework for trauma-informed practice when working with children and families affected by family violence
– Develop an understanding of the impact of family violence-related trauma on children
– Consider the application of a model of practice that can support recovery in children
– Understand intervention within the context of a child’s culture and community
The Eastern Regional Family Violence Partnership (RFVP) identified, commissioned and funded the development of a trauma-informed practice guide for understanding and responding to children and young people affected by family violence. The Australian Childhood Foundation has written and developed the guide and training.
Please note this training is available for workers in the Eastern Metropolitan Region (EMR) only. The EMR is made up of local government areas: Boroondara, Knox, Manningham, Maroondah, Monash, Whitehorse and the Shire of Yarra Ranges.
Registrations outside of the Eastern Metropolitan Region will be cancelled.
